Davianah Gears Up For Summer Success (video)
Singer and songwriter Davianah has been flavoring Jamaica’s underground music scene with her unique blend of soul, rhythm & blues, roots reggae, and dancehall since 2011. With an unapologetic and rebellious spirit, her music boldly challenges convention and empowers her audience to embrace their independence, ambition, and individuality. In 2021, the [24 year old] songstress is teaming up with powerhouse Johnny Wonder to take her first big swing at stardom. The first single produced by Wonder, “Do What I Want Too,” is rapidly growing in popularity across all music platforms, earning more than 15,000 streams on Audiomack within the first week of its release in April. The accompanying video was directed and edited by the multitalented Davianah herself. The next single “God Knows” is set to drop in early summer. |
“Davianah is young and talented and I strongly believe in her,” says Johnny Wonder. “Davi is part of a new generation of artists with a strong voice and a fresh sound that the world needs to hear.” The daughter of famed Reggae artist Tony Rebel, Davianah made her debut at Reggae Sumfest in 2011, performing Estelle’s “Come Over” as part of her father’s set. She earned her own spot on Reggae Sumfest in 2017 and has also performed at other major festivals including Rebel Salute and Reggae on the Hill in Barbados.
