New Video: Rihanna "Where Have You Been"

Rihanna is a primitive, tribal goddess in the video for ‘Where Have You Been.’ The vid opens with the sexy singer submerged in water, up to her eyeballs, literally. She is staring at us like a concealed predator at the top of the food chain, about to strike. And that’s how it is throughout the entire video. The singer is a dominant warrior princess who likes to dance and cavort in natural settings. A lot.

This is one of RiRi’s most dance-centric videos. The scene quickly moves from water to land, as she grooves in red harem pants, while surrounded by male tribesmen — who dance just as furiously in the sand. There’s even some fire. Clearly, the elements factor prominently into ‘Where Have You Been.’

The scene shifts inside, to a dark, club-like place. Ri’s rocking big, bold, natural curls and winged eyebrows. Lookout. She may start a trend at brow salons with those things. RiRi shows lots of skin, too. There are lots of scenes where she is alone in the jungle and singing.

Roc Nation's Bridget Kelly Interviews With PYNK Magazine!

Roc Nation artist Bridget Kelly interviewed with PYNK Magazine, in the interview Kelly discussed relationshps including her first boyfriend, her first break up, the last time she gave her number out, & the last time she got turned down. I relate to Kelly in her relationship woes. Anyway, check out the interview below.

On her first boyfriend:
My mom is a tough cookie. She’s really a hard person to crack, so it was funny to see her drill him, make sure he’s keeping eye contact, and figure out where his mind was. My dad was really quiet. He was the observant one and my mother was the interrogator. It was definitely a scene out of a TV show.

On her first breakup:
I’ve had a lot of heartbreak, but the first one was really devastating. A guy I was dating went ghost on me for a couple of days — I didn’t know if he was dead or alive. These days, to not hear from somebody for an hour is nerve wrecking. When he finally resurfaced it was like, “Oh, by the way, I have this other girl that I’m seeing. This is a wrap. And I’m having a baby.” That was my first real devastating, earth-shattering heartbreak.

Bridget on the last time she gave out her number:
The last time I gave someone my number was early last year, and it was my BBM pin. I felt that was a little less personal than my phone number. Then it turned out to not be. It was actually more intrusive because of the R’s and all that on Blackberry.

Bridget on the last time she was turned down:
I’m a stubborn person and sometimes kind of controlling. When I don’t get my way, I tend to wild out, have a fit, and be a bit of a brat. The last time a guy rejected me, it actually made me want him more. It definitely had the reverse effect as opposed to me being like, “Well, forget you.” It was, “Wait, why not? Why can’t we just … ?” It definitely heightened my attraction a little.

Meagan Good Rolling Out Magazine [Interview]

Meagan Good is featured in the double cover of Rolling Out Magazine this week. Inside, she reveals that she is trying to quit smoking as well as what has made her become so outspoken about her religious beliefs and Christian faith over the years. She also speaks for the first time about her future plans with her fiance, Devon Franklin (who is a pastor as well as a VP at Columbia Pictures) , who proposed to Meagan earlier this year.

There has been a lot of buzz surrounding your new music group, The H.E.L.L.O. Girls. Tell us about your name in the group, because I hear you have an interesting nickname.
My name in the group is Cheeba. It comes from an old-school cartoon where there was a cat who was like the Queen of Sheba. I’m a Leo so I am very much a lioness, so the girls somehow nicknamed me Cheeba.

How has the experience of being in the group been for you? I know it started organically as friends, but now it seems to be taking off.
Yeah, we really haven’t released our first video yet, and we haven’t been releasing a lot of songs, but we have been gaining momentum, which has been a blessing. It’s just great, because Amy is my best friend … we’ve been best friends since we were 15 years old. I’ve known Sterling forever … her mom used to write on a Nickelodeon show that I did as a kid, and of course LaMyia is my sister, so we are very close.
… I’ve always felt this pull toward music, and now that the right opportunity has presented itself, and I knew that it was going to be us four, it just felt so right.

Why did this opportunity feel different from the rest?
Well, because of the purpose behind it. It wasn’t just four friends getting together to make songs. It was about four women coming together to make a movement, and to empower women everywhere to be respectful, while also commanding respect from others. This movement has been about us being Christians, but also being very unorthodox in our approach. It was about us being hippies, and being free-spirited in our approach. We are not about the church; we are about God’s kingdom, and being about His business. So we are really having fun with this, while making sure that there is an underlining note of positivity in everything that we do.

It’s really cool to see you be more vocal in your faith. What happened to make you be more outspoken?
I don’t think that anything changed with me. I just think that there was a certain point in my career where people really weren’t listening to me because I was just getting started. But over time, as I started to get better and better, people got more interested in what I had to say. But if you go back and listen to interviews that I did in 2000 and 2001, you will see that I was saying a lot of the same things. It’s just a blessing now that people are listening as I try to share the love of God and empower young women. I really have the opportunity to make an impact, so I’m doing my best to make the most of it.

It seems like you have a lot on your plate. How are you going to balance acting, with music, as well as your impending marriage?
I’m just going to take it day by day. I really don’t focus on the destination, because I know that God has me. Right now, I’m just really enjoying the journey. When you focus on all the things that you want to be and accomplish, you run the risk of overwhelming yourself. I set my goals, and then I work little by little every day, and don’t worry about it because I know that it will all happen in God’s time.

Over the next few years, what are some of the personal and professional aspects of your life that you want to improve upon?
Well I definitely want to start making more films, and I also want to start writing and producing more. I want to create projects with my fiancé, and just help people in any way that I can. I just want to get my hands on different areas of the business, and soak in everything that God has given me a passion for.
In my personal life, I just want to work on being a better person every day. Really working on quitting this smoking, and zoning in on letting go of the people who shouldn’t be in my life. I want to start focusing on spending more time with my mom, because life is short and precious. I want to be there for my younger sister, who turns 17 next month … I just really want to begin valuing more the things that are valuable to me. My focus is on giving them more attention than I have over the last couple of years. When you’re in your 20s, you’re ripping and running, and you can forget about the things that are so much more important than what you’re doing. Now that I’m 30, my mind-set has been altered in a great way, so I’m going to be focusing more on that.

"There was so much love surrounding the making of the song, because RedOne is just so sweet to work with, he just sent me that one day, and he said, 'Hey, I got something for you!' I was like, 'You got to be kidding me, right?' I went to the studio and started writing ... scratch that ... I didn't even write the first verse! That was just me mumbling and just saying the first thing that came to my head, and we recorded it, because I just felt like: 'Let's go to the beach ... let's go get away.' It was just so good. It feels good!"- Nicki Minaj

[Video] Rihanna "Where Have You Been" Still +Wardrobe Fitting

Rihanna followed up the first and second still photos from the ‘Where Have You Been’ video shoot with another lava-hot image. She is being quite generous with photos for the Rihanna Navy to ogle. This one is also black and white shot and features the Bajan singer looking like a primal and primitive nature goddess.

In this new shot, RiRi is offering her famous come hither stare and appears to be cradling something in her bejeweled hands while decked out in necklaces and bracelets wrapped around her neck and wrists, respectively. It’s her new alter ego: Rihanna, Warrior Princess.

The singer also shared a two-minute wardrobe fitting video, which features the clothes and accessories used during the shoot. The accessories are the key part of the vid, since she is draped in them in all of the photos we’ve seen so far.

[Video] Jennifer Williams Speaks On Being Slapped By Evelyn's Assistant

Jennifer Williams speaks on being slapped by Evelyn's assistant and her former friend Nia. Although I was shocked, Jennifer did ask for it when Nia asked her if she needed to be smacked in the face to wake up and Jennifer replied by saying " Yea...she wish she would" and yea that's when all hell broke loose.  Evelyn then jumps off a table to defend the people of the Harlem that lives in two bed room apartments when Jennifer commented on Nia living in a two bed room apartment. *In my Jennifer Williams voice* "Realllllyyyy"? Check out the video and interview with Mashonda and tell me what you think.

Mashonda: Do you wish you would have physically retaliated after you got slapped? What did your mother say about this?
Jennifer: I do not wish that I physically retaliated. I am a businesswoman and an entrepreneur and I don’t want to represent myself as a fighter on TV. When I got hit, my mother was the first person that popped in my head. She was very disappointed this whole situation took place. I was not raised as a fighter or to participate in violence.

Mashonda: How did you feel after watching this episode?
Jennifer: I honestly could not watch this episode; I have never been hit before. It particularly saddens me to know people condone this type of behavior and glorify violence.
Mashonda: I know you have been working on seeking justice in this situation. How has it been working with your Attorney Sandy Rubenstein and The National Action Network?
Jennifer: Just because I did not fight back physically doesn’t mean I am not fighting back. I am doing this the right way and fighting back using our justice system. Sandy Rubenstein is my civil attorney in NYC and Sabrina Puglisi is my criminal attorney in Florida. The National Action Network has been a tremendous help in assisting me with this issue.
Mashonda: If you could say one thing to the young people that watched last night’s episode, what would it be?
Jennifer: My advice to young people that watched last night’s episode is please do not think violence is the answer.
Mashonda: What does Reality Check mean to you?
Jennifer: Reality Check is near and dear to my heart. I think it is a great organization to promote positivity amongst our youth in the community. I am a strong believer that your foundation is everything and I feel a sense of responsibility to my community to display a positive image.
Mashonda: Are you doing the next season of Basketball Wives?
Jennifer: I can’t even process next season. I still have to do the reunion show.

I am happy to say that Jennifer is dealing with her situation in the most civil way possible.
I myself hope that everyone involved in this scenario will find some clarity, peace and guidance from God. I pray that they will have the heart and mind to know that they are partially resposible for the thoughts and decisions of many young people that watch them and try to be like them. This is more than reality TV, this is Real Life!

Terrance J Inspires In Interview "From Homeless To Host"

Terrance J inspires in his interview with Global Grind about his come up from being homeless to becoming a popular host on 106 & Park. I hope that readers will take from his interview that whatever you want to do in life and no matter what kind of obstacles you face, that you can achieve it if you believe in yourself and to stay focused. Check out what Terrance J had to say in Global Grind interview and tell me what you think.

GlobalGrind: Before the acting, how did you get your start?

Terrence J: I credit my education for everything I've been able to do. I have a communications degree from North Carolina A&T State University that was the catalyst to me getting involved in media, acting and things of that nature. I auditioned for BET and several other things at the time. BET was the first thing that started off my career and that's what lead me to all the other avenues I'm able to participate in now.

When you first started at BET, how did it feel? You guys got a mixed reaction because of the situation with AJ and Free. So, what was the reception you felt?

I was just happy to be off the streets. At the time I was pretty much homeless, I was sleeping over peoples' houses, I stayed with my brother's friend on a cot in his basement for around two months. I didn't really have a place of my own for awhile so I didn't really feed into a lot of that. I think whenever you have new people they're always going to compare you to those that came before you.

They compare Kobe to Jordan and until you start winning those championship rings they're going to keep on comparing you to people. So for us it was initially difficult, we had challenges and hurdles, but we're here and we're going into our 7th season. The ratings now are higher than there ever been in the history of the show.

How does that make you feel?

We're just proud of that, we don't take any personal credit. I'm excited that there's a place for music and hip hop still on television. When you look at other networks that were primarily music based channels in the past, they don't have that anymore. BET and 106 & Park is like the last of a dying breed. We're proud that we're able to continue on the legacy bringing great artists and great music, giving those videos to the youth.

Are there any celebrities you feel you've latched on to and sort of grew with over the past seven years?

Will Smith has definitely been a big mentor to me. Diddy has actually helped me out a lot. Will Smith and Jamie Foxx have always been really kind. A lot of people in the industry have just taken me under their wing. I have some great mentors like Daymond John, the owner of Fubu, and Mike Kyser, the head of Atlanta Records. I've learned a lot about the industry and a lot about different perspectives.
